New Starters

At Ditton Nursery school we endeavour to ensure that your child’s start to their educational experience is a happy and supportive process.

As part of your child’s transition into school we will contact you to arrange a home visit.

Home visits provide us with the opportunity to meet your family in a relaxed and familiar environment. As part of this process we will complete, with you, an “All about me” booklet so that we can gain a clear perspective about likes and interests your child has currently, which will then inform our planning.

After your home visit session, you will then be invited into school for their first visit. This will last no longer than an hour and will differ from one child to another.

During this time, you will get to meet your child’s key person and point of contact. We will then work with you and your child to ensure that your child accesses their learning as quickly and as smoothly as possible.
